Spine, Hip & Knee Subsystems

Modular and scalable Bionix Spine, Hip and Knee Subsystems are designed to facilitate a wide variety of orthopaedic kinematics studies.  These subsystems combine with Bionix Tabletop Servohydraulic Test Systems, FlexTest® Controllers and MTS software to comprise complete, out-of-the-box solutions for all your biomechanical research needs.

Knee
The multi-axial Bionix Knee Subsystem delivers active flexion testing in four degrees of freedom to simulate level walking, descending/ascending stairs, and sitting down/rising from a chair.  It includes a chamber and catch basin to simulate in vivo conditions.

Hip
The Bionix Femoral Fatigue Subsystem meets ASTM and ISO test criteria for femoral stern components of hip replacements.  Also available for servohydraulic load frames is a four-degree-of-freedom hip wear simulation subsystem designed for long term tests of hip replacement wear and fatigue.

Spine
The modular Bionix Spine Subsystem allows you to perform a wide variety of spinal column kinematic studies.  You can measure pure bending, axial loads, or a combination of twisting torsion or flexural motions.  The subsystem includes multi-channel and axial/torsion systems for analyzing both skeletal tissue and orthopaedic constructs.  Bionix Spine Subsystems operate with low friction and high stiffness, resulting in high-response and high-performance tests that closely simulate the human spine.
